I spent over 15 years on the classic culture rollercoaster in Corporate America.
Shrieking in delight with my colleagues, customers & shareholders at bold human-centric value statements. And conversely, leaving bruised and whiplashed from the jerking halt to what happens when what you say & do does not, in fact, point back to who you say you are.
We’ve all been there. It’s the vicious cycle that has, unfortunately, become the norm. (There’s no way that ride is up to code!)
In that aftermath of those jerking halts every organization asks “What happened?!” but it’s what happens next that led me to coin the term, Immersive Alignment.
The answering of “What happened?”, is always through the lens of which that person exists. Marketing will answer with a Marketing bias, HR with an HR bias, Sales with a Sales bias, etc. And perhaps there isn’t anything inherently wrong with that. At best, those responses are specialized. But at worst, they are layered with the self-preservation battlecry of “it’s not us, it’s them”.
Immersive Alignment, in the simplest explanation, is how we ensure everything you say & do points back to who you say you are.
To practice, it demands a detaching from the bias of intention, and fully stepping into the shoes of another. That perspective shift allows the organization to more clearly identify the gaps, naming the needs and bringing solutions.
This relentless pursuit of discovering where the human experience intersects with the business creates a culture strategy that uniquely leads you to the intersection of Culture + Integrity and Humanness + Hustle.
That is where you find the loyalty and engagement from your employees. That is where you find the customer who transforms from transactional to full blown advocate. That is where you find the ease of growth driven from a place of true alignment; Immersive Alignment.
